Ryan’s background in finance and journalism came organically. After studying finance, graduating with a BBA and working in the field for several years, he left the industry to work as a journalist. However, in the course of his studies, he soon realized that there were very few people who were able to explain financial concepts to those without a finance background.

Working at Reuters America in New York City after graduating with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Ryan covered high-level securitized debt, a nearly $2 trillion per year industry. After writing about the financial crash and lamenting his inability to warn enough people about the impact of the Great Recession, he moved to San Diego and worked as a consultant for struggling small business owners.

Currently, Ryan spends his days working in financial technology, assisting investment advisors trying to help their clients. He also writes about finance and technology, educating as many people as possible about finance. His goal is to make high-finance knowledge, especially information relating to debt, accessible to as many people as possible.
