This infographic was created by a student. They are applying for the Golden Financial Services credit card debt relief scholarship.
To apply for a scholarship, students must provide a unique solution to the following problem.
**“ In the United States there is $15+ billion in delinquent credit card debt (people who are more than 90-days behind on credit card payments) — besides restricting the act of lending what are viable options for solving this problem?”**
My name is Sierra Slater. I am a current student at College of the Albemarle, and I have
been accepted into their highly-accredited nursing program for the fall of 2017. Through this
program, I will receive an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) and emerge into the working
world as a Registered Nurse (RN). Upon my graduation, I plan to further my studies first to the
bachelor’s level, then to the doctoral level. My ultimate goal is to become a Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). While I am studying, I will be working as a travel nurse. This will
allow me to go to areas of the country that are in the highest demand for nurses. This can include
areas that have been struck by poverty or natural disaster. While working in these areas, I wish to
help people, and show them that there is hope in even the most hopeless of situations.
This scholarship will help me tremendously in achieving my first goal of becoming an
RN so I can go straight to work saving people. The path to achieving a doctoral degree is a long
and expensive one. Any assistance I can get through scholarships, including this one, would be
incredibly helpful. With it, I will be able to pay for tuition, textbooks, and campus fees, along
with any other related expenses, so I can start saving my own funds to put myself through
graduate school.
The reason my application should be chosen is the field of work I am going into and the
depth of which I am studying. By awarding me with this scholarship, Golden Financial Services
would be funding my education to pursue a career in nursing, which would allow me to save
countless lives, and, in part, Golden Financial Services would be the reason those lives were
saved. I also have quite a lot of schooling to do, as the CRNA program is a doctoral degree. I
will need several years of college, which would cost thousands of dollars. In order to help off-put
some of those costs, I have decided to start at a community college. However, the tuition rates
are still costly, and in the grand scheme of things, the money will still add up in the end. This
scholarship can help reduce the costs of my first degree immensely, and it would be so greatly
appreciated.
